Trilogy 5

Our Sacred Temple – Body & Soul

For centuries dating back to our first days on this continent, Black women have waged an unbroken struggle to command our destiny. Though valiant warriors, the toll on our bodies over generations has been incalculable. We carry it in our bones, our cells and the very organs that make us women. Drawing on the reproductive force of our individual and collective future, of our mothers and their mothers and our girl children, this trilogy takes a sober and supportive look at Black women through the temple that encompasses our body and soul. No longer shrouded in whispers, shame or silence, our preconception health, frailties and needs are claiming a public space.

Episodes

In the wake of the Supreme Court reversing reproductive rights access to half of the country's population, revisit our Unerased episode on how Black women can lead better and healthier lives.
In the second episode, we travel the road of preconception health – those medical milestones that often determine our life's outcome before we enter the world.
We kickoff this trilogy with the White Dress Project. Sharing personal journeys, confronting myths, and breathing hope into relief for a malady that we once suffered in silence and alone.
