Trailblazer and space exploration history-maker, Mary Jackson will be memorialized in name at NASA’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. Known as NASA’s first Black woman engineer, Jackson’s story was featured in the 2016 biographical drama Hidden Figures.
NASA’s Administrator Jim Bridenstine said, “Mary never accepted the status quo, she helped break barriers and open opportunities for African Americans and women in the field of engineering and technology.”
