E. Faye Williams, PhD is the national president and CEO of the National Congress of Black Women and former counsel to the U.S. Congress’ District of Columbia Sub-Committee on Judiciary and Education.
She currently serves as a board member of the World Congress of Mayors. She is the host of the DC-based radio show “Wake Up and Stay Woke” themed in remembrance of the late Dick Gregory.
She served as a member of President Barack Obama’s Presidential Scholars Commission. She is a former Professor of International Law at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. She previously served as Chief of Staff for the late Marion Barry and is a former teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has been recognized as one of Ebony Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Black Americans” and “Power 150″. She is an ordained minister at Greater Works Christian Church in Suitland, Maryland.
