Vanessa L. Fields

Vanessa L. Fields is the president and former vice president of AFSCME, DC 47 Retirees Chapter. She is President of the Philadelphia chapter of NOW, Chair for the Philadelphia Commission for Women, and the Democratic Committee person for Philadelphia’s 52nd Ward, 10th Division.

Ms. Fields serves on the Executive Board of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). She also has memberships with the Coalition of Black Trade Unionist (CBTU), the A. Philip Randolph Institute, the Philadelphia Chapter of the NAACP, and the Lincoln University Alumni Association.

She received the Karen Silkwood Award from PHILAPOSH for her work in preventing TB in the workplace. Other awards include, the Women of Moxie Award, a Minds of Men Community Outreach Award, and the MLK Labor Leader Award. Ms. Fields earned a Master of Human Services Degree from Lincoln University.
