Bernardine (Dine) Watson is a native Philadelphian now living in Washington, DC. Dine served as executive vice president of the nonprofit think tank Public Private Ventures and operated an independent research and writing consultancy. She has written for major foundations, nonprofit organizations, and The Washington Post. In Philadelphia, Dine chaired the boards of Equal Measure, a research and social change organization, and the Painted Bride Art Center, in addition to being a Scribe Video Center board member.

Currently, she writes poetry and nonfiction. Dine is a 2015 class member of the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities Poet in Progress Program and was selected to participate in the 2017 and 2018 classes of the Hurston Wright Foundation’s Summer Poetry Program. Her poetry has been published in numerous national and DC area journals. Currently, she sits on the board of directors of Day Eight Arts and chairs the organization’s poetry committee. Her book, “Transplant: A Memoir” won the
Washington Writers’ Publishing House 2023 nonfiction prize and will be published in October 2023.
