Patricia A. Ford served two terms as executive vice president of SEIU, one of the highest-ranking African Americans in an international union and among the most influential black women in the labor movement. She is the founder of the consulting firm, DeElla & Associates, LLC.

Ford has devoted four decades to social justice leadership and civic participation. She has helped pioneer gender, racial, LGBTQ and criminal justice equity initiatives. Featured in Essence magazine several times, the publication named her as one of “Fifty Women Who Are Shaping the World.”

Ford currently serves as the President of SCLC/Women Organizational Movement for Equality Now, Inc (SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Inc. and as a labor relations consultant to the Minnesota AFL-CIO State Federation.

Ford is a former Executive Board Member of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute (CBCI). For seven years, she led the CBCI’s annual Political Education & Leadership Development Program. She has provide leadership consultation to advocacy labor organizations and is currently supporting a faith-based program in Oakland that provides employment training for formerly incarcerated citizens.
