Her achievements have focused on maternal and child health, underserved urban populations, populations in developing countries, and community-based systems of care. She was editor and a subject matter author of the seminal work on lost knowledge in the nursing workplace, Wisdom at Work.
Globally, she served as the Secretary-General of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), granted World Health Organization (WHO) consultative status during her leadership tenure. As an executive leader and principal/co-principal investigator, she garnered $70 million in significant research and intervention funding.
